Question

He says: We have a small central masjid in the countryside, and we want to expand it. However, there are graves in the area of the expansion. Is it permissible to transfer the graves to another place?

Official Transcript (English)

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ bn Fawzān al-Fawzān: Yes. The graves can be moved to the graveyard or another place. And it's (former) position is prayed in. As the Messenger ﷺ did. For indeed, he transferred the graves that were in his masjid in Madīnah. And he turned it's (former) position to a masjid. Naʿam.
