Making Something Lawful Unlawful Upon Oneself

Question
A man said: “It has become unlawful for me to enter your house.” Then after some time, he entered the house. What is upon him?

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ bn Fawzān al-Fawzān:
Upon him is the expiation of oath. Making what is lawful unlawful (upon oneself) is an oath, as the scholars have said. Naʿam.
