Question
What is the ruling on a person who prays at home while the masjid is close to him? And what is the authenticity of the ḥadīth; “there is no Ṣalāh for the person living close to the masjid, except in the masjid”?

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ bn Fawzān al-Fawzān:
The ḥadīth with this wording, I do not know of it to be authentically narrated from the Prophet ﷺ. However, its meaning is correct. Its meaning is correct. The person [living] close to the masjid, it is not permissible for him to pray at home. Rather, he should pray with the Muslims (in the masjid).
