Methods to Strengthen Tawhīd and Recognize Shirk

Tawḥīd is strengthened by studying the Qurʾān. The entire Qurʾān is upon Tawḥīd. If you check the shortest chapters of the Qurʾān, you will find them all about Tawḥīd. Studying the Qurʾān makes us love Allāh. Likewise, it teaches us His beautiful Names and lofty Attributes and He is the one who bestowed all favours upon us. We should teach the children about Tawḥīd. وَيَنشَأُ ناشِئُ الفِتيانِ فينا · عَلى ما كانَ عَوَّدَهُ أَبوهُ And the young children among us grow up *** Upon what his father had trained him with. Teach them the short chapters that contain Tawḥīd. This raises beneficial questions in their mind. The child grows upon what his parents teach him. Teach the children to stay away from Shirk. Accustom them with the three fundamental principles: - Who is Allāh? - Who is His Messenger? - What is Islām? When you raise them upon these, they grow up to love Allāh and single Him out in worship.
